Beetle was new in Bugville. It looked like a nice
quiet town. He set up shop and waited
for his first customers.

Suddenly the ground started to shake. "Run away!" bugs screamed.
"What's wrong?" yelled Beetle. "Is it an earthquake?"

"Look over there," said a butterfly.
"It's…. It's……."
"BULLY BUG!"
Page 4
"He's a big bully!" said the butterfly.
"He picks on all us little bugs."
"Give me your lunch!" Bully Bug roared.
"I want it now!" he demanded.

Beetle called all the bugs together. "I have an idea,"
he said. "But we have to work as a team."
"Amazing!" said the butterfly. "Hurray!" said the other bugs.
They all got right to work.

The next day when Bully Bug showed up something was there to
meet him. It was a giant bug-eating bird. "Leave my friends alone!"
yelled the bird, "Or you will make a tasty snack!"

"AHHHHHH!" yelled Bully Bug as he ran away.

"Hurray for Beetle!" shouted the bugs.
"I don't think Bully Bug will bother us
again," said the butterfly. And he never did!
